Biking to Work Makes For A Great Day…
The bike ride to work was so good I didn’t want it to end. My route turned out to be smooth and not much traffic. I started at 9:15am and rolled into work about 10:35am. The part you won’t see in this video is the “freshening up”… and I want to thank you all for your great suggestions in my last post. We don’t have a shower at the TV station but with a sink, washcloth, wet wipes, shampoo, a little soap, hand towel and deodorant I was ready to anchor the 6pm News. I’m also ready to ride my bike to work again! Here’s a short (may be considered cheesy) video documenting the ride:

Thanks JULIE HENRY… the camera work comes from lots of practice… very careful practice. I love cycling and I’m in the best shape of my life thanks to my bike.
Great video! Too bad you had to stop cycling. I wonder if there’s a way you would be able to combine cycling and work…hmmm.
awesome video! too bad we dont have anywhere to shower at the station…glad you have found a way to freshen up without it!
I finally found you.
On a whim at 48 years old I put my name into a drawing my company has to support the cure for Juvenile diabetes it is the 100 ride in Death Valley. My company sends 10 people from USA and 20 from the rest of the world to ride in the 100 mile ride for a cure
Well my name was drawn first word out of my mouth were ow s***.
I did a 50 miler 4 years ago with two boys and there mom for there Boy Scout merit badge. So with the help of a couple of friends at work that rides.
And a friend that had a bike they didn’t use any more.
I’m on the road again.
I had forgotten about the smells of fresh mowed lawns our new plowed earth, our how you get time to really see the things around you and of course hammer up a hill.
I ride in the Cleveland school area on 1010 highway and 210 On Thursday I ride with a couple of guys from work for what they call an easy ride. I would love to have youanybody join us
One other thing about the Boy scouts the riding merit badge is one of the hardest to get
It would be a great thing for the bike communities offer there time to assistants these kids get there merit badges it would be a great way to grow the sport.
Hope to see you on the road

Hi Chuck… Thanks for writing. So are you training for the ride in Death Valley? When is it? I’m curious what company you work for… it sounds like an awesome opportunity. I’d love to learn more about it. Please fill me in.
Thanks,
Donald

I spent the past 10 years as a volenteer committee member for a youth sport program. I ran the basketball program and coached Soccer, Baseball and Basketball. Ilove kids so to be able to ride for Juvenile Diabetes is something I feel very strongly about.
I had a great ride on Thursday my first 60 miler. One of the guys I work with rides allot he and one of his friends pulled me thru. I learned allot about how to relax and save energy and draft.
Riding for me opens up all my senses I noticed the sound that the three bikes make as were spinning. I noticed how kids look at us with wonder,
Anyway I would love to have you ride with us.

Great idea! I just want to know how you manipulate that camera while you’re riding. You are the picture of Health and Fitness!
