Learning To Drive…
Here’s a picture I took very carefully. You can just barely see the front of a white car over my shoulder about to pass me… see it there in the right of the photo. It’s a student driver… as in a young teenager learning to drive. Fortunately, they passed slowly and confidently. The good news is this particular student is not only learning how to safely navigate the roads but roads with cyclists on them.
Safe Driving… Safe Pedaling.

GROOVER– Good story! I’m sure many people have been there… nervous in that first driving test. I wonder how many people actually dont pass because something makes them nervous and uneasy.
ARLY– glad to hear you’re OK… keep your eyes peeled. Stay safe… and pedal defensively as best you can.

Nice post, Donald. It’s all a matter of educating people. I failed my first practical driving test back in Germany some 13 years ago because I scared a cyclist. Yes, you read correctly! I was waiting on an intersection and was so nervous that I tipped the gas, which raved the engine, which made a elderly lady cyclist waiting on the same intersection turn her head and look at me … bang! Failed! I wish Australian driving tests were that strict! Here I think they teach young people how to be hoons!
