What’s under your tree?
We’re cyclist… it’s what we know. It’s what we do. It’s our hobby. It’s what we study and read about. We blog about it. We know all the details of our bikes… our favorite brands of components… glasses… gloves… jerseys… shorts… socks… shoes. And as a cyclist, you know, the list goes on. So, here’s where I’m going with this. Do we really try to convey what we want for Christmas when our loved ones ask? Should we painstakingly detail what kind of cycling gear we’re interested in? Or, should we just avoid the possibility of confusion and need to return or exchange by asking for a gift certificate? My wife has said she doesn’t even know where to begin when considering a surprise cycling related gift.
Just as many husbands believe that ”get-up” they saw in the window at Victoria’s Secret is awesome… our wives know, it’s just not practical!
How about you? Let me know how your loved ones are handling the gift giving for the cyclist in the family.

How do I respond to this as I don’t have any cyclists to buy for?? However, as for that “cute little diddy” in VS, oh I definitely prefer a GC to the store so I can pick out my own “fun” stuff. ![]()
I just send her the links in email of all the goodies I want. She will get a few, but she doesn’t feel cycling products make great presents.
my christmas is hanging in the garage waiting for the weather to improve so I can break her in appropriately. No, it’s not a VS special, just a new triathlon/time trial bike.
je… Nice… I think I remember now from one of your earlier posts you have a new Trek. In response I’m going to pull up an old word from the college days… NECTAR!
First of all, somebody riding a Tarmac doesn’t need anything else. Nirvana has been approached…
And I still like the Victoria Secret idea, but I have to admit that the gift certificate does work better.

I’m considering using X-mas to convince my wife that we need to do a March training camp in Mallorca (or somewhere sunny).
